Assignment # 10: Gastown Scavenger Hunt

Automobile

Everyone was taking photos of tour bus and other cars so I choose to take a photo of this bike instead.I like how clear the bike is and this photo was taken using depth of field.

Boots

I was planning on using the boots for this photo but almost everyone already used it so I chose this one instead. For me having the cowboy gives more appeal to it rather than taking a photo of the boots itself. Cowboys always wear boots, so it fits for the category.

Feet

I don't like this photo because i didn't get the angle that i wanted, but i like the how i took a photo of the whole advertisement instead of just the foot.

Gaffer Drink

For this photo I used clone to cover up the date, and used smart photo fix to darken some part and lighten the highlights. I like the fact that you can see the reflection on the glass.

Gassy _________

The only thing I don't like about this photo is how the leaves lose to much detail. I should've waited a bit longer so it can focus more.

 Gaoler's Mews

I like this photo because I couldn't take in the angle that i wanted it to be and its blurry.

Old vs. New

I'm hot and steamy

I really like this photo because of the angle and how clear the details are. I actually don't mind the construction in the background and i can hardly see the date so i didn't edited it out.

Light

Stairs

I just edited out the date.I know its not really stairs but it looks like one and its better than the stairs photo that i took so:)

Trains

For this photo I used smart photo fix to darken the train a bit so i can see more details about it. I also crop the photo so i can get rid of the extras.

Trounce Alley

I really like this photo because it came out the way I wanted it to be. Usually every time I take photos and when i look at it on my computer its on a different angle or blurry. I didn't do any editing on this photo except taking out the date.
Vancouver

I chose this photo for Vancouver because its perfect for it:)

W

I was planning on taking this photo using framing but i couldn't get the right angle.

Wheels

I used this photo for my final edit. I made the whole photo darker and used paint brush to add more detail and colour on the bush.

Working Hard

I couldn't find anything that i like for this category, so i chose to take a photo of this instead.

Assignment # 11: Final Edit

Original Photo

Edited

I really like this photo, I'm not sure why, but i like it:). For this photo i used soft light to make the photo darker, but it become to dark so I used one step photo fix. After using one step photo fix it gave me the dark colour that i like for my wheel and the background. I also used smart photo fix and made the shadow lighter so i can see more detail on the wheel and bush. When i made the shadow lighter it didn't help me see more details on the bush so i used paint brush so bring out more detail and colour. I almost forgot, I used clone to cover up the date, Im not sure how it got there, I probably pressed something.

Original Photo

 Edited

I love this photo, its one of my favorite. I love how simple it is and how it looks like a broccoli:). For this photo I just used clone to cover up the bad leaf and crop it so I can have it on side.

Theme # 2: Loud

For something loud means my earphones.

I love listening to music, whether its out loud or earphones. It makes me relax and forget the world for a while. I love having  that feeling that you don't need to worry about anything else and just enjoy the music.

Theme # 3: Natural

"Natural at its best" or so D'alice said. I just like what she said and its true so I might as well say it:)

Assignment # 8 and 9

Scale, Depth, Framing, Simplicity

Scale

I didn't have the time to take a photo outside and decided to use my keys instead. Scale means showing the difference size between two objects. I used my sister's keys on her dairy and i just thought its really funny how the other keys look so tiny.:)

Depth

Depth means you need foreground, middle ground, and background.on your photo, like a leading like. That when you look at the photo it will lead you to look further. I used this photo for leading lines because the flowers are leading be all the way however it would've been better if I have something at the end to look at.

Framing

For this photo, I tried having someone, too show more of the how the frame works, however it didn't really fit in the photo so I choose taking a photo of the frame by itself. In this photo I'm framing the scenery in the background.

Simplicity

I love this photo and for me it means simplicity. This photo doesn't have any other colour except green and for me simplicity means nature, like flowers and landscape. It's just how we all see it, simple but beautiful. There's nothing else in it however something draws me in. When my friend saw this photo she taught its a broccoli, and I said no, but it looks like one.:)

Contrast, Texture, Repetition, Angle of View

Contrast of Colour

I used a bit of burning and dodging on this photo. I made the flower darker and I made the leaves lighter. There are other different types of contrast such as contrast of texture, contrast of lighting, contrast of shape. I choose this photo because I can clearly see the difference in colour.

 Texture

For this photo I'm showing the smoothness of the floor and the roughness of the flowers. I just wish I could've taken a better photo for texture. For me the rocks are bothering me everytime I look at this photo. I couldn't focus on what this photo is suppose to be for.

Repitition

I think this photo is perfect for repetition.I have the repetition of poles and the shadow of them.

Angle of View

Angle of view means to take a photo of something in a different angle. I choose to take a photo of the tree in my cousin's backyard to show what's underneath it. For me, taking a photo the tree on this angle gives the viewer more idea on how big the tree is rather than taking a photo of it straight.

Theme # 1: Smile

From me this kind of photos makes me smile because for the past few days its always raining,so being able to be outside, enjoying the sun gives a smile on my face.

I took this photos over the weekend in Vernon. I enjoyed that weekend so much and i wish it never ended. I spend lots of times with my family and friend. We went swimming in the lake, pool and we also went cherry picking. The cherries are really good, and while Im getting them I couldn't stop eating :). There's even a photo of a cherry that looks like a with heart shape. I just found it really funny:).

Rule of Third and Leading Lines

I really like this picture because for me it tells us story.I took bunch of picture of the same scene and when the guy in the picture started looking around I was waiting for him to leave and it took a few minutes before he did. I still took pictures even thought his there i thought i can just edit the picture. But when I started looking through my pictures i find that the guy standing there gives it more appeal than taking a picture of the scenery itself.
This photo has rule of third and leading lines. For the rule of third, i have the picture of the bench  on the third.Im not sure how to explain the rule of third so thats the only thing i can tell you. For leading lines, the wood floor is pointing right to the guy standing. Leading lines is when you look at a photo which leads you to something.

I did not  take this picture for the rule of third, but when i was looking through my photos i saw that i can use this for rule of third.I took this photo because i just like photos of nature. In this picture it has the triangle angle which applies for the rule of third.

For this photo I was waiting until someone walk by, but no one did.I just feel like by having someone walk by this scenery with this king of weather would give a mood of the scenery.I used this photo for leading lines because of the line on the sides which leads us to look even further. The last photo also applies for leading lines using S curve.
